Scripture Sunday – John 7:37-38

Thirsty?

Our physical bodies demand water. That shouldn’t surprise anyone since 55% of the male body mass is water (51% in women). Our blood is 83% water and muscles are 75%; even our bones are 22% water/ Our survival depends on getting water, and just a 2% deficiency means we are dehydrated.

Thirst is a sensation we all experience but few can explain. All we know is that when we’re thirsty, we begin searching for something to drink. Continue reading

Worship Wednesday – “Jesus Son of God” by Chris Tomlin & Christy Nockels

Visit Chris Tomlin

From Passion 2012

Verse 1:
You came down, from heaven’s throne
This earth You formed, was not Your home
A love like this, the world had never known
A crown of thorns, to mock your name
Forgiveness fell upon Your face
A love like this, the world had never known

Chorus:
On the altar of our praise
Let there be no higher name
Jesus Son of God
You laid down Your perfect life
You are the sacrifice
Jesus Son of God
You are Jesus Son of God

Verse 2:
You took our sin
You bore our shame
You rose to life
You defeated the grave
A love like this, the world has never known
(Repeat)

Chorus

Bridge:
Be lifted higher
Than all You’ve overcome
Your name be louder
Than any other song
There is no power
That can come against Your love
The cross was enough
The cross was enough

The cross was enough
The cross was enough

Worship Wednesday – “Not by Might” by Carola

Not by might, not by power
But by my spirit says the lord
Not by might, not by power
But by my spirit says the lord

Sometimes fears can hide your vision
The loss of purpose chains you down
You think I’ve forgotten all you’re dreaming of
But how could I forget the one I love
It’s…

Repeat chorus

Bridge:
These mountains will be removed
I’ll build my temple in you
And what I’ve promised shall be done

Worship Wednesday – The Happy Song

Martin Smith and Georgian Banov along with Jesus Culture play the Happy Song at Voice of the Apostles 2011 conference in Lancaster PA.

If you know Georgian, then you know he’s led worship with “The Happy Song” (a personal favorite!) every place he has ministered since 1994 which means he’s played that song almost every night for the last 15 or 16 years. It was his *extreme joy* to play for Martin Smith (original author and composer, formerly of Delirious?) during the Voice of the Apostles Conference.

Lyrics:

Oh I could sing unending songs
Of how you saved my soul
Well I could dance a thousand miles
Because of your great love.

My heart is bursting Lord
To tell of all you’ve done
Of how you changed my life
And wiped away the past
I wanna shout it out
From every roof top sing
For now I know that God
Is for me not against me

Everybody’s singing now Cos we’re so happy
Everybody’s dancing now Cos we’re so happy
If only we could see your face
And see you smiling over us
And unseen angels celebrate
For joy is in this place!

I was just wondering what this scripture means to you….

The Gate

Wow! I must confess that Father God has really been working with me in the area of forgiveness, more specifically, the area of unforgiveness that I hold towards others. It’s kind of interesting to think that I really felt that I had dealt with most of my unforgiveness, but He wants it all. Forgiveness is hard, difficult, challenging. But, I’m learning. My heart is open to whatever the Father wants to teach me.

And He knows, that, too… Continue reading

Process of Emotional Healing 2

Understand and accept the responsibility for the ungodly act

Many who have chosen sin have been victims of another person’s will to commit an ungodly act against them such as, sexual abuse and rape, among other wounds. Taking the past wounds into consideration for healing is appropriate, but in no way excuses a person’s responsibility for choices made from their free will.

Own the sin and recognize that forgiveness is needed.

Against You, You only, have I sinned and done that which is evil in Your sight, so that You are justified in Your sentence and faultless in Your judgment.” Psalm 51:4 AMP

Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean [ceremonially] wash me, and I shall [in reality] be whiter than snow.” Psalm 51:7 AMP

We must stop playing the “Blame Game” and own our sins.

If we freely admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will and purpose, thought and action." 1 John 1:9 AMP

Understand and accept the forgiveness of God, realizing that there is nothing we can add to the finished work of the cross!

When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” and He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. John 19:30 AMP

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that He lavished on us." Ephesians 1:7-8

"For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him (Christ) and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things." Colossians 1:19

This last scripture tells us that God accepted His Son’s blood as full payment for all our sins.

Relinquish all ungodly thoughts and emotions

Many thoughts have been embedded in our minds that do not line up with the Word of God. Ungodly thoughts become attitudes that will affect our emotions. The living Word of God must renew our minds.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death." Romans 8:1-2 NKJV

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." Romans 12:2

"…those who live in accordance with the scripture have their minds set on what the Spirit desires." Romans 8:5

"Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever].” Romans 8:6

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot whatever sort that is, that peace], which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts.” Philippians 4:7 AMP

“[Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the (true) knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ ( the Messiah, the Anointed One).” 2 Corinthians 10:5 (Isaiah 55:1)

Accept and walk in newness of life.

When we are born again, we are a new creation, adopted into the family of God, joint heirs with Jesus Christ and we have eternal life.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17
